Use mnumonic devices.... FOr example using the first letter of every word and making a sentence like
Perenthysis
exponents
multiplycation
division
addition
subtraction
you would take the first letter and use it in a word to write a sentence like
please excuse my dear aunt sally.
or
PEMDAS

in your case, do not learn kanji first or at all. im serious.
unless you've learnt hiragana, don't even think of touching kanji.

to remember all of hiragana requires 150+ hours of work. and repetition. so like looking at karaoke in anime, or looking up raw manga.
to learn how to draw hiragana go to the link below. if you can configure your mind to remember images, you'll be fine: http://members.aol.com/writejapan/hiragana/writutor.htm
if you feel your confident after that go to the website below. since you're probably a begginer learn 1st grade kanji first. best way to go about it is practice 4 a day or something. within a month you'll know the first grade, maybe their meanings too.

repetition is the key. otherwise you'll find yourself back at square 1.

Quite frankly, Ukranian people are most hate all those things, so I learned it with stupid in-front memorizing. That's the most easiest way I think. At least because there is nothing new to invent :)
