This is a repeat of the forum announcement... I'm just covering my bases here:



Recently you all may have been getting some odd 404 pages whenever you come to the website. They're annoying, I know. The reason for this problem is not because of poor coding but because some of our advertisers have been pulling out of NL.

They're upset about all the swearing here. Now, we staff members understand the awesomeness that is a curse word but there is nothing we can do. Without ads we generate no cash to pay for the servers / bandwidth / vB rights. No cash = no forum.

We were asked by Adam, the guy who owns this place and pays all the bills, to do something about it and we're going to follow through.

So from now on, there will be no swears permitted in any thread titles. This includes ANY kind of curse words, even the mild ones. We will give out infractions on sight and not wait for a report to come in.

We also ask that you, at the very least, TRY to cut back on swearing inside of threads. We're not banning it nor will we give out infractions for that stuff... But we need you to scale it back for a while so that we don't get shut down.

So please, do it or we'll spank you... And not in the fun way.

Also, I just checked out Youjizz without noscript on and they have ads for getting jacked in 30 days and shit like that there (Not even all porn related ads; not that it necessarily matters since it seems ADAM is clearly all about the cha-ching). And the entire site is dedicated to hosting videos that contain shit like people fucking each other in the ass and chicks getting ejaculated on by 50 guys and whatnot. And shittier sites have even more ads, so yeah. Getting ads that are cool with a little swearing can't be all that hard.

I said in my post they weren't all porn ads. They've got get jacked in thirty day ads and something else non-porn related. Getting jacked quick is something that the demographic naruto is targeted at would potentially be interested in too.

And I really don't think ADAM particularly cares about the people on the forum anyway, other than that they make him money. As shown by threatening to shut down the forums and the only input he gives is "do this so that I can make more money." Which would almost be understandable from a business perspective, I suppose (Sorta, kinda. I dunno if making it blatantly obvious that you're just using everyone to make a buck and that you don't give a shit about them is good business practice. But I'm no business major or anything either...). But it's quite contradictory to the way he portrayed himself when he introduced himself here on the site (Which, oddly, I can't even find now. Did he delete all his posts or something? It was fandom, right?) He made himself out to be a huge animu fan who was happy to share his hobby with people, if I recall correctly...


Edit: I'm fairly sure there are weeaboo related ads on 4chan too. And that place is pretty much just CP, gore, camwhores, etc. Oh, and I think they allow cursing as well.

But expect it to happen, actually back when megaboss was still around after ownership was passed to Adam, he was telling me how if NC where to drop traffic and revenue wise they would simply close it and merge its content with mania.com. Apply this logic with NL except NL isn't as important as NC. Also as far as I know not even Adam has full control of what goes on here. He mentioned that he doesn't exactly own NL/NC, he was just set in charge to run them by whatever money hungry company now owns them.

1) We don't have any control over where we are hosted. We're the forum and this dude named Adam is the owner. He runs shit at NarutoCentral and we're just the parasites that hang out at his underbelly.

2) The costs of this site are a lot higher than you think. For one thing, he requires a large amount of bandwidth and more just for hosting all of that stuff on the NC site. That requires some specialty deals there alone. The forum is even more expensive because it requires a VB license.

3) Not swearing in thread titles really is not that big of a request. It's really easy to do.
